Differentiated instruction is a teaching approach that provides students with multiple options for learning based on their individual differences. In this session, participants will learn about this approach and strategies associated with it. Participants will discuss how these strategies might be adapted in their own classrooms. Handouts will be provided.
Mariah Fairley is an English instructor in the IEP at the American University in Cairo. Her interests include student engagement, academic reading and discussion skills, and teacher training.
Heba Fathelbab is an English Instructor in the Rhetoric and Composition Department at the American University in Cairo. Her interests include assessment, communicative teaching, and teacher training.
Susanne Rizzo is a senior English instructor in the ELI at the American University in Cairo. Her interests include teacher training, community based learning, and reading/ writing in academic settings.
