Eclecticism: Students’ Perception of Means and Methods
Methods-driven teaching confines teachers to a repertoire of techniques and strategies. The presenter will report on a study of the use of principled eclecticism with B1 graduate Saudi students with focus on learners’ involvement, outcomes and feedback. Implications for curriculum design, program evaluation and teacher training will be discussed.

Bassyony holds an MA in TEFL, and an MA in English literature.She has eighteen years of EFL/ EAP teaching experience in tertiary educational institutions in the Middle East.

EFL Instructor, Qatar University
Hardie Cooper Jr. holds a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in TESL. At present, he teaches Post Foundation English at Qatar University, where he has worked since August 2007.
